How To Dye An Easter Egg

Step 1: Help Mommy put the eggs into the pot.

Feel very proud of yourself.

Step 2: Read some Easter books while the eggs are cooking.

Ask your mommy all sorts of questions, like - "Does the Easter Bunny eat my eggs?" "Do I want the Easter Bunny to eat my eggs?" "He won't eat my eggs?" "Oh, good."

Step 3: Put Baby Brother in his high chair so he won't bother you while you dye your eggs.

Well, . . . . .

at least for a few minutes.

Step 4: Put the color tablets in the cups.

Think that it is pure magic every time.

Step 5: Carefully place your eggs in the colored water.

Don't have a lot of patience.

Take them out as soon as they have any color whatsoever.

Step 6: You must taste the fruits of your labor.

Step 7: Happy Easter!!

To the movies . . . .

I took Christopher to his very first movie this past Friday.

It's kind of sad that he is 4 1/2 years old and has never set foot in a movie theater, but we just never find the time . . . or the money :)

His Auntie JJ works there so we got to go (for free!!!) to see How To Train Your Dragon.

In 3D!

Wow.

When I think of 3D I think :

This new 3D is so amazing.
I was totally blown away.
I doubt Christopher was as impressed. These kids born with all this technology are hard to impress!! He loved the movie theater though and we had lots of fun.

Of course, he couldn't go through the whole movie without embarrassing mom a little bit.
Before the movie, the little blurb came on about turning off cell phones, etc.
You know the drill.
It said "Thank you for being courteous and for choosing Regal Entertainment" (or something like that).
Christopher, nonchalantly yells out "You're welcome!"
Of course everyone was laughing, including me and Auntie JJ.
He's one polite guy.

It was so fun spending time with my little man for the day.

Things We Love Lately

We loved peeking at the thunderstorm blowing in this morning.

I love deli sandwiches.

I could honestly eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner EVERY day.

I love that I finally got some red shoes.

I've wanted some for years but just never bought any (I even used to work at a shoe store!)

I love watching WWII in HD on the History Channel.

Such amazing footage.
Such amazing sacrifice.

I love these.

Or is it hate?

What do you love (or hate) lately?

You there?

I'm back.
I think.
The sickness has left our house and we are all still a little tired (with the mom being the most tired).
I am still trying to deal with my anemia and now with a new problem.
A little, round cheeked, blue eyed problem.

The baby.

When Andy was born I thought Oh good. A calm one. A snuggly one. And, he was pretty calm for most of his little life . . . . until he learned to walk.
Now he is the terror of the home - pulling everything out of drawers, closets, cabinets, laundry baskets. He searches the home for his next victims to plunge into the toilet. He has temper tantrums that would make a 2 year old take note. Sigh.

The other day we went outside and he found a spoon I let Christopher use to dig in the dirt with. He had fun with it for awhile, hitting the pavement

and anyone else who got in the way.

Then, he noticed the window well that we haven't gotten a cover for yet. I was right on him, grabbing it from his little fingers.
Immediate tantrum.
Too bad! I'm the mom. I'm boss! HA!
I turned around for a second, the spoon hanging loosely from my fingertips.
SNATCH!
PLUNK!!
There it lies in its' window well grave.

His little face had a look of Now, what are you going to do about that!!?

Honestly, I don't know :)

Parenthood is THE craziest thing I will ever do.
Those kids can drive you completely crazy!

And yet, you are crazy in love with them.

Please, someone tell me how this works???

Fresh Air

Andy was finally feeling a little better today.
I felt the need for freshness after rooms full of humidifiers.
So, we headed outside to our backyard.
Alllll the snow has finally melted and in its' place is the brown, prickly grass.
Hey, I'll take anything over snow!

Apparently Andy didn't feel the same way. Since he was born last winter, he started to learn to walk this winter when the ground is full of ice and piles of snow.

He wasn't so sure about shoes,

and definitely wasn't sure about the prickly grass.

He refused to step on it.

My boys are the perfect example of children being born into a family and having two totally separate personalities.

Christopher rolled around in that ugly brown grass like an animal.

Typical Christopher.

We had a nice time talking under the blue sky

and just enjoying some crisp air.

However, as you can tell from Andy's face,

some of us enjoyed it more than others.
Hopefully soft, green, summer grass will change his mind :)

What's your weather like today??

Hello out there!

So, ya.

It's been a long time since I posted.

Let me explain.

Tax season (never seeing our Daddy) + 3 sick boys (including poor Daddy) + anemic Mommy = we are so in need of a trip to Hawaii.

Mommy has been so tired

that I think our healthy snacks have been going out the window lately.
Christopher was getting a little too fond of alphabet cookies.
Then, the other day I pulled out this cookie.

Uh oh.
You're right Mr. Alphabet Cookie.
You're right.
So, he got some carrots instead.

I have been beyond exhausted lately, but that didn't stop me from having a little fun.

Grandma and Grandpa Garlick came to visit this past weekend. I have only one picture because 1. I'm just TIRED (have I mentioned that yet :) ) 2. When I am enjoying myself I forget to take pictures :) We had such a nice time though and we LOVED having them come see us.

I also did a little something to the bathroom upstairs. I was getting a little sick of this shower curtain we had in there. It was shiny, it was red, it was beaded, and it was starting to remind me of a saloon girl.

So, I put together a shelf unit, grabbed some fun, thrifted accessories, some metallic spray paint and went to town. (please forgive the yucky pictures - my camera hates dark rooms)

NEVER buy metallic spray paint. It is so cool and so addicting your whole house may get coated in it. Anyways, it turned out nice. Nothing too fancy, but definitely better than saloon girl.

So, what have you been up to??
