On June 19, 2009 my sweet friend, Katie Allen, lost her husband, Brad, in a motorcycle accident. She has two little children and is pregnant with a third. Her family is holding an auction to raise money for her little family. This tragedy has deeply moved me and my heart is breaking for her. It helps me remember everyday how blessed I am to have my family with me through life's journey. I know most of you probably do not know them but if you have a desire to help, go here. I'm sure anything you can do would be appreciated. If you would like to donate money let me know and I can give you an address.

Things I Loved This Week . . . . .
Mission Impossible
My son is very much a clean freak. Strange for a 3 1/2 year old. He cried for 15 minutes the other day because he caught a glimpse of his macaroni and cheese mustache in the mirror.
The horror.
The horror. You'd think as a mom I would be pleased. However, I think I would much rather clean up a few messy hands than hear the crying over spilled milk (literally). So, I've had to take action. It's called :
Operation - Help my little boy learn that a little mess is okay sometimes and that it can even be fun in some situations.
I've been trying to set up activities where it is okay to get messy.
Yesterday it was paper mache.
Things started out rough in the beginning.
The mess was just too overwhelming.
But, after some time . . . . . he really got into it
(as you can see).
We made a volcano
and a dinosaur.
He painted his dino and his volcano

then I said "Alright, it's time for our volcano to errupt!"
He got a little worried,

but by the end he was all smiles.
I think

Forever

He smiles when I tell him he can play with his truck in the dirt.

I smile when I see the dirt here.

He grins when I tell him it's okay if he takes off his shoes.

I grin when this guy grabs my camera and pulls it close.

I frown when I see my baby is trying to crawl. Can't he stay little a little while longer?

Why can't my children stay children forever?

Sick and Twisted
Here is a little post all about yours' truly
So, I am really into crocheting lately. I love to crochet blankets, but lately I have been really into crocheting animals.
I know. I know.
It kind of sounds like an old woman crocheting creepy dolls,
It kind of sounds like an old woman crocheting creepy dolls,
Here are a few of my recent projects.
Here is my attempt at a horse.

I asked Christopher what we should name him.

I asked Christopher what we should name him.
Chris: Spider.
Me: Why Spider??
Chris: (with an annoyed sigh) Because it rhymes Mom!
Me: Oh, yes. Silly me.
Here is my lion.
I used the multicolored yarn which was totally exciting. You never knew what kind of pattern it was going to make.
Christopher named this one Spider #2.
Me: Oh, because it rhymes??
Chris: (another annoyed sigh) Noooooo Mom. It doesn't rhyme.Me: Oh, yes. Silly me.
And, last but not least. My favorite (total lie), high pitched, overly exuberant little monster . . . . ELMO!
