A Day Out

We finally had a day out as a family this last Saturday. It had been too long.

We first made our way to the zoo. I love the Portland Zoo. You can't get any better than beautiful Oregon green, animals to oo and aw, and places for a 3 1/2 year old to explore.

We call our kids Monkey #1 ( Christopher) and Monkey #2 (Andrew).

So, Christopher told us before we left that the two monkeys were going to go see the animals at the zoo. And, of course, he had to tell everyone he came across that Mommy and Daddy brought their two monkeys to the zoo.

This lady told him "Oh, well I brought my two gorillas (referring to her older sons)."

Too funny.

Andy was content with just giving smiles and people watching.

I think Christopher would have been content just to explore than actually look at any animals.

However, we did get to see a few creatures.

Watching the sea lions is our favorite part. Soooo fun!

We also got a little comedy routine from the elephants. Baby elephant was following his sister all around the enclosure - driving her crazy (as we all do to our siblings).

It was so cute.

Then, Mom finally coaxed him away for a bath.

Love the elephants!

Fun was had by all.

But, our day wasn't quite over. Stay tuned for the rest of the day's outing . . . . . . .

You take such good photographs! This post is making me want to make a zoo visit, but alas, there is no zoo in Spokane.
