Who's Your Daddy

I feel like someone important is being left out of our FAMILY blog. DAVIN! Poor guy. I'm sure he is devastated :) So, here are some fun facts about my Davikins :

1. Davin loves numbers. He loves figuring out gas mileage, grocery deals, budgets, etc. I guess that's why he is an accountant :) He is one smart guy!
2. He served a 2 year LDS mission in Paraguay. I love to hear him speak Spanish.
3. Davin used to be the captain of his cross country team. This is so amazing to me because I am a terrible runner.
4. He knows EVERYTHING about sports. Scores, players, teams, you name it. He has taught me a lot!
5. Davin knows how to work hard. Ladies, he is not afraid to do dishes or laundry. I love that :)
6. He is a good daddy and a fantastic husband and we love him :)

Okay . . . go ahead and roll your eyes. But, isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen!! Or, the cutest thing the mother, grandmother, grandfather of these children has ever seen!

Go 54!!

Go 54!!! Yaaaa! Okay . . . . I have no idea who 54 is on the Miami Dolphins. In fact, we don't even watch the Dolphins (if you haven't noticed, they aren't too fantastic lately). However, Christopher saw this shirt at a yard sale and it was love at first sight, and I LOVE THAT. I love seeing his little personality traits shine through. Why can't us adults do the same thing? C'mon, you know you've seen one of those Christmas sweaters and thought :

Wow. Look how cute that little snowman is! Or look at those cute dogs on that sweatshirt! BUT, you know you wouldn't wear it because it's not in style. I love that kids have their own style and they are not afraid to use it :)

Another thing Christopher is not afraid to admit is that he likes some things typically labelled as GIRLY. He loves rainbows. As we were taking a walk today, he was gathering rocks in his tricycle. When we got home he said "I want to paint these RAINBOW!!!" And I thought, Ya! Ya. Let's paint these rocks the prettiest rainbow colors in the whole world!!! So, we did. Aren't kids great! When he is a rotten teenager he is going to be totally against rainbows because it means pretty rainbows and unicorns and flowers. What is WRONG with rainbows and unicorns and flowers I ask? Nothing. Nothing.

I can't wait to see what makes this little one smile. Right now it is short power naps. 15-30 minutes. What's WRONG with short power naps? Everything. Everything. :)

My little heroes

You don't raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes. :)

I get it

I think, as children, we always wondered why grownups were so boring.

Well, Mom and Dad,  I have finally realized why . . . . .

You never wanted to eat a massive handful of colored marshmallows.  Eck!

You were never excited to jump in a bathing suit (aghhhhh) and jump in the public pool with me.

You didn't want to hop through mud puddles.

You didn't want to watch the dumb cartoons I watched.  Does anyone else agree on how ANNOYING this show is!

You didn't like it when I said "Mom!" or "Dad!"  100 times to get your attention.

You loved naps.

You didn't get as excited about squishing into a cardboard box as I was.

I get it.  I get it.

Proof

Proof that Christopher cannot do anything with seriousness. He has to make everything more entertaining and silly.

Proof that you should NEVER EVER tell this child a silly little lie because he will BELIEVE you . . . . . . FOREVER!!!! Christopher will believe what this doctor said for the rest of his life. Seriously. Mommy is going to have to explain this one for a loooong time.

Oh Happy Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

And . . . . Happy Birthday to my brother Shawn! P.S. Shawn, you have no normal pictures of yourself on Facebook. So, this is as good as it gets. I guess it's a pretty fair representation though. You really are SUPERMAN!

A Smelly Subject

This is not an innocent little boy. This is THE gas expellingest, wind breakingest, cheese cuttingest, little baby you will ever meet. Usually when a baby gives a sweet little toot, people just look over and laugh and say "Uh oh , somebody has a gassy tummy. Yes you do. Goo goo goo." Not this kid. Oh no! He lets one go that is loud, long, and smelly and people look at me and wonder what I ate for dinner. So, the next time you hear or smell something coming from the general direction of a mom and a baby . . . . don't judge too quickly.

Please

This is kind of late notice and I don't usually like to publish these sort of things on my blog, but I feel this one is going too far. An ex-mormon has given details about the LDS temple ceremonies to the show Big Love on HBO. They will be airing this episode, which will show some of the ceremonies, on Sunday to make a mockery of the LDS faith. Anyone who shares my beliefs will know that these ceremonies are SACRED and not SECRET, so to show these beautiful things on such a misleading show upsets me greatly. Even if you don't share my beliefs but believe that I, as your friend, deserve a fair portrayal of my religion please write to http://www.hbo.com/apps/submitinfo/contactus/submit.do?title=GeneralInformation&questiontype=generalInformation&questiontype=general

Me, lazy??

There are some days (okay, most days lately) when I am so delirious with lack of sleep that I am a lazy parent. Kids like wearing their pajamas all day, right? You have these dreams before you become a parent that you will spend all day doing EVERYTHING right. Your laundry will be done, your kitchen free of dishes, and every toy in its' place. Your children will spend their time doing art projects, reading books, and, of course, being perfect little angels. Reality can be harsh. It's just good to know that there are some more of you out there like me who are probably TRYING, but trying on 4 hours of sleep :)
P.S. Just to clarify, that first picture is NOT my child :) And, I do not have one of those futuristic scooter thingys.

The Bros

    Mushing the baby

I am almost a dognapper

Awwwww. Fresh air. We were finally able to step outside for a walk yesterday and it felt great. The baby slept and Christopher was able to run around and play with some of the neighbor kids. On our way to the playground we spotted a girl walking her dog. It was the funniest sight in the world. She had a miniature pinscher puppy and it was THE tiniest thing I have ever seen on a leash. I tried to pet this puppy, but even the gentlest touch sent the dog tumbling over. Adorable. I almost grabbed the puppy, put it in with the baby, and ran. Almost.

Torture

And we wonder why we fight with our siblings??

Pure torture and humiliation . . .
