I love HGTV.

It's definitely my favorite channel.
I don't love it so much at 3:00 in the morning with a sick baby, which was last night.
However, at 3:00 in the morning on HGTV they showed a house in our old neighborhood in Oregon.

A house I must have passed a thousand times.
Maybe it was because it was 3:00 in the morning, or because I was REALLY tired, or because I was just as irritable as the baby, but I was suddenly missing Oregon terribly.
I missed those tree lined streets -

so completely gorgeous in the fall.
I missed the beauty blooming EVERYWHERE.

I missed those trips to the beaches.

I missed our walks and all our little finds.

I missed the rain.

All the lovely rain that came and came, sometimes everyday for weeks.
Sigh.
After countless moves and transplanting ourselves into new places we have definitely learned that anywhere can be home if you make it home.
Blackfoot is no exception. It is definitely becoming our home and we love it here.
But, I will always have a special place in my heart for beautiful, green Oregon and the memories created there.

What places or things do you miss??

I am so sorry you were up with Andrew. I love where I live now in many ways but I will never quit missing the "garden of eden" we lived in when we were in the Northwest. Something inside of me will always long for it and miss it. I totally get how you feel.
Please smooch the sick one for me. I hope he is better soon and that his mamma gets some sleep.
Wait, I didn't know you guys had left Oregon. We really miss it too! Hopefully we'll get back there again.
That leaf photo is beautiful. We will be moving up to oreagon in june and I am so excited! Fun to get a taste what it will be like!
I love the pictures on every post on your blog. Just had to say that first off.
I miss being young and invincible. I miss my super-curly hair from my pre-baby days. I miss the beaches of southern California and the way the rain sounds when it hits the old, wooden frames of the lifeguard stands there. But mostly, I miss my dad.
Oh, you've made me nostalgic. I miss Oregon so much too!
I am glad that you added the part about getting used to any place and how it can be home, because I was going to be sad that you didn't like Blackfoot.
Let's see-I miss being able to sleep uninterrupted through the night, but I have a cute little baby so it's okay (most of the time :) :)!! I haven't really been anywhere to miss yet. I guess I could say that I miss Jackson (which it is beautiful) but that would mean i would miss being a maid and I am not sure that I miss that :)!!
Kim, I agree with the getting sleep. I miss not being able to sleep in if I wanted to and know that I will not be interrupted during the night. I also agree about Jackson. So beautiful, but I don't miss being a maid either. Maybe I will have to write a post on our adventures there together :)
