Multnomah Falls

I have visited Multnomah Falls numerous times with my family growing up on our vacations to the Oregon Coast. I NEVER would have thought that I would someday be taking my little family there (or living in Oregon for that matter!) We live about a half hour from paradise as you can see! We left this morning to go see BIG WATERFALL (as Christopher would say). We got there just as it started to rain. Lucky us! So, we got absolutely soaked. However, one of the delightful things about children (and Christopher) is that a little rain never ruins the fun. We had a great time hiking the trails, exploring caves, and discovering giant, man eating slugs (this was never my favorite part about Oregon). As some of you know who have been to Multnomah, there is an abundance of gourmet coffee and pastries to enjoy on your way back from the falls at the lodge. We came down hungry and ready to eat . . . . . . . our peanut butter sandwiches. We had a great time!

We made it! Wow, what a long and crazy journey to our new home! However, I think Davin and I have labeled ourselves "professional movers" with our 8 different moves under our belt! We have to give a HUGE thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Catmull and to Shawn for helping us with this last one. We could not have done it without you! Thank you sooooooo much! We love you! I have so much to write about our new house that I will save it for future posts. Pictures will be included :) These pictures are from a dock in Portland where my dad was checking out some sailing lessons. Don't mind my fake smile in the picture (the baby was kicking so hard on my bladder I was thinking Man, I if this keeps up I am going to have to relieve myself right over the edge of this dock!) Don't worry I made it to the bathroom, where we found this giant dog who posed with Shawn for a pic.


P.S. I wanted to tell my wonderful husband, Davin, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! These past four years have been so wonderful and full of so many amazing memories and experiences and I am so happy to share them with you! I LOVE YOU DAVI!

To Portland or Bust!

This will be my last post before we are official Oregonians. Christopher is so excited about "NEW HOUSE" even though I am pretty sure he doesn't know exactly what is going on. He sure is having fun packing though. Boxes make great choo choos. Thank you everyone who helped us with all these years of school and moving from place to place to place! We appreciate all the help we have gotten along the way! We look forward to having you come visit (wink wink). PORTLAND HERE WE COME!

The Burglar

He's not my little baby anymore! Okay, so I should have realized this a long time ago (he is almost 3 years old.) However, today was another tell tale sign that he is ready to move on. We have been keeping Christopher in his crib all this time for many reasons: we don't have room in our tiny apartment for a bed and the old crib, and WE HAVE NO MONEY! So, he has been a little angel and has never given us reason to worry about him climbing out. Well, today as I was taking a nap, I heard the door slowly creak open. I was thinking WHO IS THAT? DAVIN'S HOME EARLY? A BURGLAR? No! It was the timid little face of my son who quietly comes over to me and says "Mom, I wake up." Wow! I am sooooo glad we are moving and can finally have room to give this little guy a big boy bed. Now I just have to keep him in there for a week and a half. Yikes.

Congrats!

We're back! I spent last week taking pictures and helping with Jason (my brother) and Kelly's wedding. It was lot's of stress but we had a great time! Kelly is from England so her family flew in for the event. They were incredibly fun people and we had a great time getting to know them! After 5 years of dating, it was such a happy occasion to see these two as husband and wife. They really do belong together :) We love you guys! Congratulations!

There are some places we will miss here in Boise, and some of them are the amazing parks they have just right around the corner from our little place. Today we went to the Ann Morrison Park and played at the playground. Christopher swung in the swing for literally an hour. He wants to go as high as possible and he yells for everyone to hear "To infinity and beyond!" He loves Toy Story! Davin and I have very sore arms. He screamed and screamed when we finally tore him away. After that we headed over to the giant fountain where he proceeded to get very very wet. Christopher was very tired after his outing and so were Mom and Dad (especially Mom). We will miss our little outings here in Boise Idaho.

Well, I guess we won't be living with the PARANOID lady after all . . . . we had some trouble with the apartment complex. They ended up wanting to charge us more than what was agreed in the beginning. Soooo, now we are PRETTY sure that this little house is our new rental home. Kinda cute huh! Much better than the apartment apparently would have been with the wild children, the cops at all hours, and the people in swimsuits :)
