Oh the drama!

Today on our walk we heard a woman screaming. She was screaming like a woman who is about to be murdered. "Noooooo! Please leave me alone! Get away from me!" Me and about half the neighborhood came running to her rescue. There she was standing with her little sweet corgy dog. She was terrified. Struggling to save herself and her dog. Here is a picture of the attacker. If you have seen him please call the police immediately:

So, here we all were standing around trying to muffle our laughter as we stared at this poor woman for what seemed like an hour. Finally, I was "brave" enough to approach. I tried to grab the puppy but he was wiggly and licking me all over. I was laughing while the lady yelled. "No honey, you'll get hurt! Let him do it!" She pointed into the crowd. He came forward.

Ya. He looked like this and she thought he was apparently the only one strong enough to ward off her attacker.

So, we both held the dog while she made her get away. She literally picked up her dog and ran. I know her dog was feeling like this:

She ran home. I recieved no "thank you". No appreciation. I guess it's just all in a days work.

Magical Place

Portland is quite the magical place. In one hour it can go from dark, gloomy, and rainy to bright, warm, and wonderful. We took part in one of those uncanny moments today. We went outside to enjoy the sparkling rain to jump in the puddles, and to feel the drops on our fingertips. We ended up enjoying the toasty sun as well. Christopher loved having dirty shoes and a tough muddy truck to push around. Andrew was content with some sun in his face and a hand safeguarding the bottle. We had fun and some of us got a little worn out.

Finally

So, you may have noticed that my son is hardly ever wearing pants in any of my blog posts - He hates pants, okay! It is starting to get a little embarrassing. Not for him of course. Well, here is one last post (fingers crossed) with a pantless child and it is a GOOD one!

Congratulations little guy!

Something Incredible

Yesterday morning something incredible happened! My shower turned into a TIME MACHINE!!!

I'm serious. I went into the shower and it was spring. I came out of the shower and it was CHRISTMAS! Yippee!

Okay, not so yippee. Christopher had gotten out all the Christmas decorations and had started decorating the house. Ugh.

For the Grandparents

and anyone else who likes laughing babies.

Sweet Remembrances

Having children is like having a sweet glimpse into the past - A moment to remember what it was like to love the world and to find joy in simple things. Watching my boys delight in each others' company makes me smile. It helps me to revive some of those feelings I felt with my own siblings. We were close and we had some wonderful times and we have some wonderful memories of our childhood. I hope my own children will have the same. Families are a beautiful thing :)

No, he's just smart

My son said something the other day that caused me to CRINGE. How could he? What a terrible thing to say! This was the conversation he was carrying on with his two toy cars:

Car #1: "What's that?"
Car #2: "What, that? That's just the money you could be saving with Geico."

Grrrrrrrrr. I despise this googly eyed thing. I just find him quite irksome and somewhat disturbing. And now, he's meddled his way into my son's imaginative play. What's that you say? Maybe my son has watched too much tv lately while his mother lay helplessly flu sickened on the couch? No, I like to think he's just smart.
