Christmas magic

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all thirty feet tall." Larry Wilde

So, because Christopher is really getting the hang of Christmas this year, I was thinking: Wow, wouldn't it be nice to have a big Christmas tree this year. All the ornaments, all the bows, and the beautiful star on top. Of course, we don't have enough money for that this year and children always have a way of putting you in your place. When Chris and I were all done putting up the tree (I think it literally took us 5 minutes. ha ha), I began to wonder if it looked too much like the Charlie Brown tree. However, Christopher simply looked at it with amazement and said : "Wow Mommy! That is a BIIIIIIIG Christmas tree! It's so pretty." How wonderful are little children in reminding us that Christmas isn't about the big and the beautiful, but the little Christmas magic we create as a family.

A Heavenly Week

This past week was FAB -U - LOUS! We drove all the way to Idaho for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun to see family and to have numerous baby-sitters at your command :) I got to enjoy a heavenly week of mom and daughter time where we got lots of projects and lots of shopping done. I found a fancy tent (oh, I mean dress) to wear to Davin's company Christmas party, I made stockings for our little family, got some things ready for baby #2, and had Christopher's birthday (very very very early). His birthday isn't until December but this kid needs an audience and I'm afraid just Mommy and Daddy wouldn't have been as exhilarating. Anyways, thank you to my wonderful family for a fantastic vacation, and to my Davi for driving me out there and probably getting very bored while I enjoyed a break. I love you all!

I tend to not take very many pictures when I am having fun being busy, but here are a few cute snapshots from the week.

The guys hangin out. (My brothers, Christopher, and Davin)

My brother and his wife made Christopher's birthday cake! It was adorable to say the least!!!

Christopher got some new Sunday clothes. I was almost ready to cry he looked so grown up. You mommies understand!

Just Two Things To Say

Two reasons why I cannot wait for this weekend:

Number ONE!

I get to go HOME!!! YAY! I love living in Portland and we have made some wonderful friends, but there is nothing like spending a little time with the family during the holiday season. Hooray for little Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Number TWO!

It's the HOLY WAR! Okay, so I am so nervous about this game I don't even know if I can actually watch it. And, I don't know if I can handle Davin if they lose (just kiddin Davi, you know I love you:) We believe in our Unga, our Max, our Pitta, and our Bronco! We know you will win!

Kiddie Crafts

So, I went to the craft store today looking for something to entertain myself. Well, we didn't find anything in my price range :) So, I decided to let Christopher try his hand at some crafts! Let's just say I have never seen an uglier shirt and a dinkier little painted car. But, Christopher is so proud and in love with his new treasures, and that is why he brings so much joy to my sometimes dull and overly perfection aimed life :)
