Things We Love Lately

I love thrifting (big surprise there!)

I went with my mom, brother, and sister in law thrifting a couple of weeks ago and I've decided that we need to make this a regular thing. They were so much fun to shop with and they got my obsession. They GOT it! They even bought a BEAUTIFUL desk to refurbish.

I bought this

It's huge.
HUGE!
Everyone was laughing as I was carrying it out of the store, bumping into things and people (oops).
I paid $8 for her and she is gorgeous!
Obviously the massive shade needs to go, but the base is soooo me.

I also bought a red, wooden apple for $0.25.
I spray painted her white and put on some decal stickers I had lying around.

I love it.

She decorates with fake fruit all the time.

Though, I'm guessing hers' aren't cheap and spray painted. Oh well.

We loved having Davin's cousin and his wife over for dinner on Sunday. Such fun people.
We got to meet their sweet little girl they adopted.

Isn't she precious!!
We are so happy for this little family.

I love these things.

As the lady in line behind me at the store said "You know that summer has arrived when you see those in stores!"
Well, she was wrong.
It's freezing here.
I still love eating them though even if I do it with a blanket wrapped around me.

I love that I have a new goal for this summer.
My goal is to learn how to use this

What is it?
The only person who probably knows is my mother in law.
She gave it to me yeeeaaaars ago and it has been waiting in my storage room.
Waiting for me to get the nerve to break her out.
Yes, Kristin Garlick is going to learn how to use a sewing machine.
Gasp! I know. I'm kinda nervous.

We (that means Davin too) are so in love with these two.

Love. Love. Love!

Laundry Gone Wrong . . .

It all started with a basket of clean clothes.
Andy, the baby, noticed his favorite thing in the pile. Brother's underwear.
Andy decided to pull a pair out and bring them to me with a big smile.
He wanted me to put them on.

I laughed and slipped them over his diaper.

How cute.

What a sweet boy.

"Hold on guys. I'm going to go put some more laundry in. Be good!"

I came downstairs to a whirlwind of clothes.

Clothes in the air, on the furniture, on the kitchen table.
There was laughing and screaming.

Eventually they stopped.

I saw this little face.

Nope.

Just tired.

Boys will be boys.

And mom learned that some things just need to be laughed at and enjoyed.

What a week . . .

Idaho makes a person tough.
We know how to deal with the unexpected.
Last week was a fun, crazy week.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we spent outside.

Soaking up the sun on our heavily sunscreened backs.

Lounging by the pool.

Taking sips from the beautiful fountains.

Giving Mom wet hugs.

Thursday it rained.
RAINED.
Rained so hard it I felt like we were back in Portland.

We spent the day making strawberry jam with my grandma, mom, sister, and sister in law.

It was a blur of strawberries, spoons, and stirring.

So yummy.

We were tired after all that.
We got lots of rest and woke up on Friday to a beautiful, yard . . full of . . . . .

snow??

Gotta love Idaho.

Spring has sprung

Spring has finally showed its' lovely face in Idaho these past couple of days and it brought a few lovely things with it.

First, our Daddy came home to us after a long, cold, tax season!
The boys are beyond excited to have him home at normal hours.
They get to hang out together and finally do those "manly" chores that I always neglect.

They washed the car the other day and it brightens my day to see my guys having fun and working together.

The second thing spring brought was an itching to plant.
Since Idaho has the most unpredictable weather in the world, we decided to start with flower pots inside.

Is there anything more wonderful than seeing green sprouting through the dark soil.

Ohhhh, I love it.

It always makes me think of the hobbits from The Lord of the Rings

(I'm a nerd. I know) and how it says that they have a love for things that grow.

I am definitely not a green thumb but when spring comes who doesn't have a love for things that grow?!

What has spring brought to your house?

Things We Love Lately

First and foremost, we love that there are only

We love this show on Discovery.

It's a fun show that the WHOLE family can watch. Christopher gets so excited watching the animals and we all laugh at the funny things they do. I guess I am such a fan because it reminds me of watching those old nature shows on PBS with my dad.

I love that Andy is becoming a little cuddler.

Oh, I cherish it!!

I also love my sister Jamie (Auntie JJ)

and how good she is with the boys.

We love going outside and to the parks.
Andy is finally big enough to have fun at the playgrounds.

Christopher has fun running around and playing with the kids he finds there.

If you know Christopher you know that he is a talker and very friendly.
His conversation with a kid he found there :

Christopher: Hi! My name is Christopher Garlick! What's your name?
Kid: Uhhh...Brandon.
Christopher : Oh, wow! What's your favorite food?
Kid: (Quickly runs to his mother, who I'm sure thought Christopher punched him or something.)

Does anyone else have this problem? A kid who is so friendly that other kids are either in love with him or terrified of him?? Sigh.

I love finding interesting containers for ordinary items around my house.

I found this beautiful antique carafe at the thrift store (of course) and since I drink neither coffee nor wine I decided to put cooking oil in it. It makes my day a little happier and cooking not such a drag.

I love finding beautiful fabric on clearance.

I love this French Country fabric. Oh the possibilities! I'm thinking it will be for a chair. (Hmmm. . . where did I get that idea?)

And last but not least, Davin and I cried tears of joy when we heard Idaho Falls is getting one of these.

Love. Love. Love.

Easter Morn

We had a lovely Easter.

Andy was the first to discover his Easter basket.

Christopher didn't tear into his as much as we thought he would.

He later told us that he had gone down while we were sleeping to check out his stuff. Stinker.

Christopher was so fast at finding all his eggs

that I didn't get one egg hunting picture that was not a blur of motion.

Andy was not into looking for eggs.
He was in love with his new, cheap golf bag and clubs.

So cute.

They had fun rummaging through the eggs

and, of course,

enjoying the spoils.

We had lots of fun.
