Pretty Sure

We were pretty sure it was going to be a nice day today.

We were pretty sure that nature would be beautiful.

We were pretty sure that pondering life's questions would be involved.

We were pretty sure that we would
almost reach the sky.

We were pretty sure that Christopher was going to be very entertaining on the slide.

We were pretty sure that we were the coolest kids on the block.

And . . . . . . we were right.

All you need is love

THINGS I LOVE LATELY

I love sharing baths

I love doing this

and seeing little "piggies" sticking through

I love that this guy is being put to work :)

I love the light shining through in the mornings

I love the discovery of feet

What do you love?

Pink

I am going to admit something. I wanted girls. I wanted PINK! I wanted DRESSES! I wanted cute little hair BOWS! I wanted DOLLHOUSES! Well, if you haven't noticed, so far it hasn't worked that way. My days are full of Lightning McQueen, messy hands, trains, tractors, and blue. Blue, blue, blue, and maybe some green or yellow. Where's my pink?

Well, my pink is in those rosy little cheeks after a long bike ride,

the pink scraped up knees from running around the playground.

The pink baby skin

and the pink baby lips.

So sweet.

I guess boys aren't so bad after all :)

And now . . . .

"A new father quickly learns that his child invariably comes to the bathroom at precisely the times when he's in there, as if he needed company. The only way for this father to be certain of bathroom privacy is to shave at the gas station."

I tried so hard to write my post in privacy today - IT NEVER WORKS!!

Have you ever?

Have you ever had a laughing session with your doctor?

You haven't?

Well, I DID today.

We took Andrew to his pediatrician for a checkup. The second the doctor stuck his stethoscope on the baby's chest Andrew started laughing hysterically. Rotated the baby's hips - laughter. Checking the glands - ridiculous giggling. The doctor and I were laughing so hard we ended up with tears streaming down our faces. Let's just say Andrew is a little ticklish. I think we all (including the doctor) left with a smile on our face.

Awwwww . . . . . the little joys in life.

Pouting

Well, Christopher has officially joined the ranks.

Joined the ranks of people that make ME pout like a little child.

Let me explain . . . .

I am terrible at board games and card games. Terrible. I don't know why. I just am. Davin has (since before we were even dating!) beat me at every card game out there.

It is shocking how few times I've won. Grrrrr. Well, Christopher has a new little game.

A simple, Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders, Checkers, Tic Tac Toe kinda game. I thought Hey, I am not taking it easy on this kid. I'm going to WIN this game. Well, we've played it at least 15 times today and I've won MAYBE 2 times. Dead serious.

Help me. Help me, please.

Happy Mother's Day

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." --Washington Irving

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in my life.

My mother -

She is the kindest person I know,
has limitless understanding, and is my best friend.

My Grandma Elkins -

She was so beautiful and elegant. EVERYONE she met was mesmerized by her charm and splendor. I know I was. She also had a fabulous sense of humor. I can only hope to attain some of her character.

My Grandma Catmull -

She is my second mother. She loves her family and shows it through her boundless love and unselfishness.

My mother in law - Eva -

In showing love, she is undaunted and overflowing with encouragement. I am grateful to have her in my life and for raising the son that she did.

Happy Mother's Day
