I've decided to start a new weekly blog post based on this person's inspiring words.

Is it . . . . . Mother Teresa who for over 45 years ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying.

Is it Abraham Lincoln who successfully led the country through its greatest crisis, the Civil War, and ended slavery.

Is it Ghandi

who was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement.

or is it Bill Cosby
the creator of the Cosby Show and Fat Albert.

Okay, so some of them are more worthy than others :). But, I will prove to you every week why the winner is . . . . . . . Bill Cosby!!!! Yay! He should feel so honored. I watch the Cosby Show reruns everyday and I have decided that I want to be a parent like him. He's funny, he's smart, and he always knows what to say. So, I have decided that his wisdomatic words will become a part of my blog every week and you will all benefit from them :). This week is just a funny and very true statement from this funny funny man.



Cosby talking to his children: "I don't really know how intelligent I am because I can't ever finish a thought! You people are always jamming yourselves into my thoughts. Jam! Jam! Jam! Think of the things I could have invented!"


So true. So true. I am pretty sure I may be a genius. But, these people

won't let me finish a thought! That's okay though. I'd rather be a mom with sweet, wonderful children than the brilliant, inspired genius I know is being suppressed :)

Easter fun

Things I Loved About This Easter

I loved that even these flimsy baskets got an "Ohhhh those are pretty baskets!" from the 3 year old.

I loved that he got some tools from the Easter Bunny and he sang the Bob the Builder theme song as he worked.

I loved that he headed towards the bathroom because he honestly thought that maybe the Easter Bunny hid an egg in the potty. Ummmmm. . . . Ya. Sorry to disappoint you little guy.

I love that he thought the Easter Bunny probably watched all his movies because an egg was hidden in them.

I loved that every year he is excited that an egg is on his bike.

I love that he can't even find the obvious ones. Too funny.

I loved that he was so excited to open each egg even though they all had the same candy in them.

I loved that Andrew was soooooo excited about his Easter present . Snore.

I loved that we had a grass fight until we heard Daddy coming out of the shower. Oops! Love you Davi!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter!

Keeping Up With the Joneses

This post was inspired by a conversation my mom and I had the other day about misleading mom blogs. The blogs that make you believe this person is perfect and there is NOTHING you can do to measure up :) In our crazy cyber world I am starting to feel like I am"keeping up with the Joneses blog".

Their posts contain pictures of their children behaving perfectly and doing ADORABLE things. I found my children this morning playing trains. Christopher pulled the baby on the blanket over to his trains and was attempting to push him around the track. Ya. Not good.

These blogs also show their children wearing clean, beautiful clothing. My son wore his Halloween shirt yesterday. The one that says : "Monster in training." Perfect.

These blogs tell you that this mom had time to, clip coupons, go shopping, do a craft with the kids, clean the house, make a little money on the side, play games, iron the clothes, make healthy snacks, finish a scrapbook, paint her room (including vinyl lettering), and prepare a dinner that any fine culinary chef would be impressed with.

These blogs make you think that their children will actually play happily outside all day long. Our outdoor play yesterday consisted of Christopher running in the house screaming "Pippin is outside! Pippin is outside!" That's our neighbors little dog whom Christopher used to love. However, now they have a fence and the dog barks. Not so much love anymore. Remind you of anything?

Now I am going to let you in on a little secret . . . . my last post was . . . du du du . . . . MISLEADING! Andrew's blessing day was wonderful, but he was not as happy as the pictures tell. He actually cried through his whole blessing. I'm not sure any of us heard any of it. Oh well. You all just keep pretending like you will never measure up, okay?

Blessings Galore

Yesterday was my sweet Andrew's blessing day. We did it at home because that was the only day both sets of parents could come. Could a weekend be any more WONDERFUL! He is such a joy and it was so wonderful to share such a special day with family. Thank you Grandma Eva for making his beautiful beautiful outfit and Grandma Catmull for the lovely lovely blanket. Thank you Grandpas for entertaining Christopher with balls and boats and baskets :) Thank you Jason and Kelly for coming all this way and giving Christopher his hugs and KISSES :) Ha ha! I love you all and I feel sooooo blessed!

I want to be an ostrich

So, yesterday was a BAD HAIR day. But, who's gonna notice? I'm not going anywhere. I have no groceries to buy, no friends to visit. Right? This is my conversation with Christopher, my 3 year old:

Christopher: "Mom, what's wiff yo hair?"

Me: "What do you mean?"

Christopher: "I think you're having a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad hair day."
